Giving my ‘fro a break. (Already)

I went back to my good ol’ faithfuls. Since I’m back in Chicago, I was able to get my hands on some Marley braid hair.

More me spam.

Excuse me, I feel pretty.

‘Night.

Did a new set of twists. I’ll do a follow-up post with more details later on today including hair used, colour, length, number of packs and failed experiments.

Love her twists.

Me and my Marley twists. I miss them. :(

Did my twists again, but now that I’m home in The Bahamas, it was impossible to find the usual Marley braid hair that I use.
So I used an alternative:  The regular “Jumbo” kanekelon hair. $2.50 a pack. It’s the same hair used for Senegalese twists, except I didn’t twist them the same way. (I don’t like how silky Senegalese twists look)
I did them the same size as I do my Marley braid twists and they’re much longer. I love how they look.
Packs used: 16 and a half Did my twists again, but now that I’m home in The Bahamas, it was impossible to find the usual Marley braid hair that I use.

Love the thickness of braids

I love these!

Happy Sunday.

Hi :)

Finally finished my twists.

FAQ:

What kind of hair do you use?

Marley braid hair

What brand do you use?

For my recent twists, I used a mix of Freetress Equal Marley Braid and Beauti Collection Marley Braid.
After doing my hair for as long as I have for this style, I don’t really see much difference between the brands i’ve used. I’ve also used Janet Collection before not much of a difference. I just go with the cheapest brands as of late.

How much packs do you use?

Usually 10-12 packs.

I used about 12 1/2 packs. I combined 3/4 strands for this style for one individual twist.

How long does it take you?

If I sit and focus, maybe a day or 2. But for THIS style, it took 2 weeks because I’m on winter break and I was just chilling really. Didn’t have anywhere to go and I have lots of hats. lol

Do you do marley/kinky twists for other people?

Unfortunately no. lol I just started doing my own hair. And since I’m on a student visa here in the US, to get paid to do hair would be in violation. Eh.

There are some tutorials on Youtube you can search for to get some decent how-to tips, though. :)

morning.

Almost done.

Putting in my new twists.

Got a new beanie. Yay

Not even halfway done with my hair. It’s gonna be huge.
